Precautionary Measures: What We Need to Do to Stay Away from Spider
Bites
Spiders are known to be very gentle and shy creatures. As dangerous
as these creepy crawlies may look, spiders do not bite at all and will
only show aggression when they are on a hunt, threatened or provoked.
But what has made spiders something to be feared of is because there are
some species spiders that possess very powerful and deadly venom which
can sometimes give fatal spider bites to an adult human.

Every spider species have different types of venom and their potency can
depend on the amount of venom that was injected during the bite. This is
why it is very important for bite victims to be able to properly
identify the spider species that bit them for the administration of the
correct anti-venom. But still, the best thing that you could do is to
take preventive measure that can keep you away from being bitten
entirely. So if you want to learn about what you can do to avoid spider
bites, then just keep on reading and learn!
- Avoid contact. As mentioned earlier, spiders are very shy
creatures and love to hide in crevices or under beds and furniture.
So if you do see one in the house, the safest thing for you to do is
to simply stay away. And if you really cannot stand seeing one
inside your house, then you can simply take them out with a stick
and place them somewhere where they won’t be disturbed or cause any
harm to anyone.
- Stay away from damp and dark places. These are the places that
spiders love to stay in. So if it is unavoidable that you go into
these tight places, then wear the proper protective clothing such as
a protective glove or a long sleeved shirt to protect yourself from
spider bites. Be very careful in sticking your hands in to dark
crevices or old dusty boxes where spiders may be resting or hiding.
- Do not hurt them and they won’t hurt you back. Spiders show
aggressive behavior when they are threatened so if you do not want
to get bit, then mind your own business.
Another extremely important piece of information that you need to
know about spider bites is what to do if ever you get bit. Of
course, not all of us are experts on spiders so but it would be very
helpful if we can get a more or less detailed description of the
kind of spider that bit us. Why? This is because in cases where we
do need to get an anti-venom shot, doctors will know what specific
substance to give you.
